Chapter 2 of 5
Chapter 2 of 5
Digital content
With digital content, such as a course or a download, the withdrawal right works differently. If you could withdraw after seeing everything, you could keep the content and get the money back. That is why the law lets that right be lost when you start using it, as long as you accept it when buying.
The checkout box
When buying digital content, checkout asks you to tick the box “I want immediate access and accept that I lose the right of withdrawal as soon as the download or access starts”. The box comes unticked and the pay button does not work until you tick it. That way you have access at once, without waiting for the period to pass.
What still protects you
Even if you lose the withdrawal right, the creator's guarantee still applies. If the product has a guarantee, you can ask for the refund within its period without giving reasons. It does not matter that you already started the course. Checkout shows you the guarantee with its days before paying.
If it does not convince you
- 1. In your area, click My purchases and then the order's row.
- 2. Click Ask for the refund.
- 3. Tell in Reason (optional) what did not convince you.
- 4. Click Confirm the request.
Your reason helps the store improve its product. You do not have to write it.
If the product fails
If the content does not work or is not what the page promised, write to the store from My questions before asking for the refund. Often they solve it with a new file or a missing access. If the store does not answer, ask for the refund or complain, as the next chapters explain.
Withdrawn products
If OnBio withdraws a product because it breaks its rules, all its buyers get a refund without asking. The creator has withdrawn a product explains it.
What you have now
You know what protects you with digital content. In the next chapter you ask for a refund.
