Chapter 3 of 5
Chapter 3 of 5
Funnel
The funnel shows you your visitors' path from the shop window to the purchase. Each step says how many people reach it. Where the number drops sharply is where your buyers get lost. That step is the one worth improving first.
See the funnel
- 1. Click Analytics in the side menu and open Funnel.
- 2. Choose the period.
- 3. Choose a product in the list of All products if you want to see only that one.
You see the visits to the store and to the products, the leads captured, the started payments and the purchases.
Conversion and abandonment
Conversion divides purchases by product visits. With 200 visits and 5 purchases, conversion is 2.5%. Abandonment counts started payments that did not finish. With 20 started payments and 5 purchases, abandonment is 75%.
What to look at in each step
- Many store visits and few product visits: your store does not take anyone to a specific product. Review its blocks and cards.
- Many visits to a product and few started payments: the sales page does not convince. Try another headline with an A/B test.
- Many started payments and few purchases: something holds people back at checkout. Review the price, the instalments and the payment methods.
How it is counted
Each bar is measured against the step with most visits. Product visits can exceed store visits, because many people reach a product from its link. Unique visitors only count those who accepted analytics cookies. Without that consent, the visit counts but without identifying the person.
Recover half-finished payments
The Cart reminder flow sends an email to whoever left the payment halfway and accepted your emails. Turn it on in Email, Flows tab. Recover failed charges and abandoned carts explains it.
What you have now
You know where your buyers drop off. In the next chapter you connect your pixels.
