Chapter 4 of 5
Chapter 4 of 5
Meta, Google and TikTok pixels
With your pixels, your ad accounts know which visits and purchases come from each ad. That way they can show your ads to people similar to your buyers and you can know how much each sale costs you.
Save your pixels
- 1. Click Analytics in the side menu and open Pixels.
- 2. Type the Meta pixel, the Google tags or the TikTok pixel.
- 3. Add the Google Ads purchase conversion if you use Google Ads.
- 4. Click Save.
The Meta pixel has 15 or 16 digits. Google tags accept up to 3, separated by commas. The TikTok one has 20 uppercase letters and digits. If the format is wrong, the screen tells you in the field.
What each pixel receives
Each pixel receives the visit, the product view, the start of payment and the purchase, with the product and the amount. No pixel loads before the visitor's consent. Meta, TikTok and the Ads tags need advertising cookies.
Test the Meta pixel
Type the Meta test code the Events Manager gives you and open your store. The events appear in Meta's test tab. Delete it when you finish testing.
Turn on the Conversions API
Some browsers and blockers stop the pixel. With the Conversions API, Meta receives purchases from OnBio's server even if the browser blocks it.
- 1. Generate the access token in Meta's Events Manager.
- 2. Paste it in Access token, under Meta Conversions API.
- 3. Click Turn on the Conversions API.
Meta receives the purchase twice with the same identifier and counts it once. The token is stored encrypted and never shown again. If Meta rejects it, the status becomes Token rejected and you get a notice. Meta rejects the token explains it.
What you have now
Your pixels receive your sales. In the last chapter you see how the cookie notice decides what is measured.
