Chapter 5 of 6
Chapter 5 of 6
Self-billing and withholding
OnBio sells all your products as the legal seller and you provide it with your services. Each month OnBio settles those sales and issues on your behalf the invoice of your services, called a self-billed invoice. It is your income and the invoice that goes into your tax returns.
How it is calculated
On the 1st of each month OnBio settles the previous month. The base of the self-billed invoice is your sales of the month minus OnBio's fee and the refunds.
- It carries VAT if you are in mainland Spain or the Balearic Islands.
- In the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla it goes with reverse charge.
- If you are self-employed with a professional activity, it carries the income tax withholding of 15%, or 7% if you declared the reduced withholding for a new activity.
The withholding is decided by the type of activity in your tax details. Check it with your accountant if you are unsure between professional and business activity.
Review the self-billed invoice
You get the email “Your self-billed invoice for” with the month and the PDF attached.
- 1. Open Reports in the side menu.
- 2. Click the month's report.
- 3. Check the sales, the fees, the refunds and the net of the self-billed invoice.
Reject it if something is off
You have 15 days to review it. If you do not reject it in that period, it counts as accepted.
- 1. In the month's report, click Reject the self-billed invoice.
- 2. Explain what is off under Reason.
- 3. Click Reject in the dialog.
The OnBio team reviews it and answers you. It can confirm it as it is or issue a corrective self-billed invoice.
Without the self-billing agreement, OnBio cannot issue your self-billed invoice. You get the email “We cannot settle your sales” with the month and the report appears blocked in Reports until you sign it. The monthly self-billed invoice explains it.
What you have now
You know how your self-billed invoice is calculated, which withholding it carries and how to reject it. In the last chapter you see what you prepare for your accountant each year.
