Chapter 3 of 5

Resources

Resources are courses or digital downloads you include in the community. Each active member gets access to them while they stay in the community, without buying them separately. They add value to a membership with what you already have, such as a welcome course or a recipe book.

Add a resource

First publish the course or download you are going to include. Only published products appear in the list to choose from.

  1. 1. Open the community from Communities and click the Resources tab.
  2. 2. Under Add resource, choose a course or a download.
  3. 3. Click Add.

Each active member gets access to the resource and sees it in their member area. The list says how many members have access to each one.

Those added later

A resource you add later also reaches the members who were already there. That way you can add a new resource each month and announce it in the community as news. It is a good reason for your members to keep paying.

Remove a resource

When you remove a resource, members lose the access the community gave them. Whoever had the product on their own keeps it, because they bought it separately. Warn in the community before removing something your members use.

Resources or membership

A membership can also include products in its Content tab, with Included in the membership. What is included in a membership reaches whoever pays the membership. A resource reaches each active member of the community, whatever product it belongs to. If the community belongs to the membership, the result for your members is the same.

Use resources when the community belongs to a course or a digital product. Your students get an extra without you creating a membership. Community resources explains it.

What you have now

Your community gives access to your resources. In the next chapter you see how to moderate it.
