Channels and posts

1. 11. Open the community and click the Channels tab.
2. 22. Click Add channel, type its Name and click Save.
3. 33. Repeat with the others and drag them to order them.

A community accepts up to 10 channels counting General, which cannot be deleted. Start with a few. A channel with no movement gives the feeling of an empty community. If you delete a channel, its posts move to General.

1. 11. Click the box to share something with the community, at the top of the feed.
2. 22. Choose the Channel and write the text.
3. 33. Under When to publish, choose Publish now and click Publish.

A post accepts up to 10,000 characters and 4 images of up to 10 MB. Add each image's alternative text with + ALT. A YouTube, Vimeo, Loom or Wistia video is linked. The team's posts carry the Team mark.

1. 11. Open the post and click its actions menu.
2. 22. Click Pin post.

A pinned post comes first in All and in its channel until you unpin it. You can have up to 5 per community. Pin the welcome, the rules and what you do not want anyone to miss this week. Unpin what has passed so the pinned posts keep drawing attention.

Prepare the week's challenges on Sunday and let them go out on their own each morning.

2. 22. Under When to publish, choose Schedule with its date and time.
3. 33. Click Publish.

Scheduled posts and drafts are in the Drafts tab, where you click Keep editing to change them. Drafts and scheduled posts explains it.

Your community has channels, pinned posts and a scheduled week. In the next chapter you add resources to it.
