Types of subscription
On OnBio a subscription is a payment mode of an offer. What changes is the product charged that way. The two most common are the membership and the private podcast. In both, access lasts while the payment is up to date.
The membership
A membership charges every month or every year and gives access to the courses, downloads and podcasts you include, plus your community. It is the way to sell all your content together, with something new each month so it is worth staying.
- 1. Create a Membership product from New product.
- 2. In the Content tab, choose what goes in Included in the membership.
- 3. In Offers, create a monthly or annual offer with the Subscription payment mode.
- 4. Click Publish.
Publish what you are going to include first, because you can only choose courses, downloads and podcasts already published.
The private podcast
A private podcast delivers its episodes in each buyer's podcast app, with a feed that only works for them. Each new episode reaches them on its own. If they stop paying, the feed is cut.
You need a square cover from 1400 to 3000 pixels and at least one episode published as MP3 or M4A. You can include the podcast in a membership so each member gets their feed without buying it separately.
Monthly or annual
You can offer both at once with two offers. The annual one usually carries a discount, for example two months free. In return it secures the customer for a whole year. Choose as default offer the one you want whoever reaches the page to see first.
What the buyer pays
Each period is charged on its own with the same card or wallet. Bizum and PayPal are not offered for subscriptions. Each renewal appears in Sales as an order of its own with the type Renewal. Sell a membership or a private podcast explains it.
What you have now
You have your subscription published. In the next chapter you add a trial to it.
