Chapter 1 of 4

Connect Instagram

For OnBio to answer your followers, connect your Instagram account. You only do it once. OnBio keeps the connection active for you and renews its access before it expires.

The account you need

Your account has to be professional, creator or business. You do not need a Facebook page. It has to be public, because a private account does not receive comments from people who do not follow it.

If your account is personal, switch it to professional on Instagram, from the settings of your account type. The change is free and reversible. You keep your followers and your posts.

Connect the account

  1. 1. Open Integrations in the side menu and click Set up Instagram.
  2. 2. Click Connect with Instagram.
  3. 3. Sign in to Instagram and accept all the permissions.

You see Instagram connected. and the account appears as Connected, with its Permissions and the expiry date of the Token. If you connect a personal account, you see That account is personal. Switch it to professional on Instagram and connect again.

The permissions

OnBio asks to read your profile, read your comments and send messages. If you do not accept the comments permission, rules by comment do not work until you connect again. The Permissions row tells you if one is missing.

If it disconnects

If you change your Instagram password or remove OnBio's access from Instagram, the account appears as Reconnection needed. Your rules are paused and you get an email. Click Connect again and they answer again on their own. Instagram has disconnected explains it.

A single account

Your business has a single connected Instagram account. If you connect another, your rules are paused with the reason You connected another Instagram account. and you check them before activating them.

What you have now

Your Instagram is connected. In the next chapter you create your first AutoDM rule.
