Chapter 1 of 4

What to automate first

You don't need to automate everything. A few moments hold almost all the value, because in them the person is thinking about you or about something they bought from you. This chapter helps you choose them.

The moments that pay off most

  1. 1. Someone downloads your lead magnet. It is when they are most interested. A few welcome emails tell them who you are and what you sell.
  2. 2. Someone buys. A few onboarding emails help them get started and get the most out of what they bought. With them, refunds go down.
  3. 3. Someone leaves the payment halfway. A timely reminder recovers part of those sales.
  4. 4. The charge of a subscription or an installment fails. Asking them to update the card recovers money that was already yours.

The triggers of OnBio

Each automation starts with a trigger. OnBio offers ten: purchase of a product, captured lead, added tag, abandoned cart, subscription started, subscription cancelled, failed payment, completed course, booking made and some days without opening the course. The product triggers can be limited to specific products.

Marketing or service

A marketing email only reaches those who accepted your emails. A service email reaches everyone, and is for notices about something the person already bought: their access, their booking or their payment. The welcome of a lead magnet is marketing. The emails of a purchase or of a failed charge are service. When you build each email you choose its type, which the templates already set according to the moment.

Where to start

If you sell subscriptions or installment payments, start with payment recovery. If you have a lead magnet, continue with its welcome. With those two, the moments that move the most money already work on their own. Then add the abandoned cart and the onboarding after purchase.

One at a time

Build and activate one automation before starting the next. That way you see its figures without mixing them with others and learn which tone works with your audience. A contact can be in several automations at once. While they are inside one, the trigger does not enroll them in it again.

What you have now

You know which moments to automate first. In the next chapter you build the first one from a template.
