Change the bank account
On this page
Changing the account where you receive your payouts has three checks so that nobody can divert your money: your two-step verification code, a link you receive by email and a wait of 48 hours before the new account receives payouts. It takes a few minutes and payouts resume on their own when the wait ends.
Before you start
- Have your two-step verification app at hand.
- Have the IBAN of the new account, in the name of the holder of your business.
- Check that you are the owner or have the administration role.
Start the change
Open Payouts in the panel menu and select the Bank account tab, which shows the current account with its last four digits.
- 1. Write the Verification code from your app.
- 2. Select Start the change.
- 3. Open the email «Confirm the change of bank account» and select its link within 30 minutes.
Give the new account
The link in the email opens the confirmation of the change in the panel, from where you give the new account in Stripe's secure form.
- 1. Wait until the screen says the change is confirmed.
- 2. Select Give the new account.
- 3. Write the IBAN in the Stripe form and save it.
What happens next
The Bank account tab shows the new account with its countdown. During the 48 hours no payout goes to your bank, neither to the old account nor to the new one. Your sales keep being charged and your balance keeps growing. When the wait ends, payouts go to the new account again.
The owner and the people with the administration role receive the email «A bank account has been added» with the last four digits of the new account.
Keep in mind
- The wait applies to any new account, including one added from Stripe.
- The account holder has to match your name or your company name. If it does not match, payouts stop until you correct it.
- If the link in the email expires, go back to the tab and select Start again.
- If you do not have a payout account yet, the bank account is added in the payouts step of onboarding. Verify your identity and open payouts explains it.
Frequently asked questions
What do I do if I did not ask for the change?
Open Payouts, select the Bank account tab, write the Reason for cancelling and select Cancel the change. Payouts are frozen and the OnBio team reviews the account and writes to you. Change your password as well.
How do payouts resume after cancelling a change?
Start a new change with your correct account. Payouts come back when that account finishes its 48-hour wait. Until then your balance keeps growing with your sales.
Why has a transfer not arrived after the change?
Most likely the wait has not ended. If it has, check the causes in I have not received a transfer.
