Chapter 1 of 6
Create the course
A course has two parts in OnBio. The product is what is sold, with its sales page and its price. The course is what is learnt in the member area, with its modules and its lessons. First you create the product and then its course.
Create the product
- 1. Open Products and click New product.
- 2. Choose Course as the type.
- 3. Type the Name and the Price. Then click Create product.
The product stays as a draft while you build the content. Each course product has a single course.
Create the course
- 1. Open Courses in the side menu and click Create course.
- 2. Choose the Product you have just created.
- 3. Click Create course in the dialog.
Organise the outline
A good outline lets the student always know where they are and how much is left. Group the lessons into modules that tell a stage, for example Basics, Practice and Real cases. Many short lessons are better than a few long ones, because each completed lesson shows in the progress.
- 1. Click Add module and type the Module name.
- 2. Repeat with each module of your outline.
- 3. Order the modules by dragging them.
Prepare the sales page
While you build the course, write the product's sales page in its Sales page tab. Tell what the student achieves when they finish, who it is for and what each module includes. Add the questions you are asked most in Frequently asked questions. A short video of you in Main media helps whoever arrives get to know you before buying.
See the course as a student
Click See in the area from the course to open it in the member area as your students will see it. Draft lessons are not visible to them. Look at it again each time you finish a module.
What you have now
You have the draft product and its course with the outline's modules. In the next chapter you fill each module with its lessons. Create a course also explains it.
