Chapter 3 of 6

Quizzes and certificates

A course that makes people practise gets finished more. Quizzes let the student check what they learnt and the certificate gives them a clear goal at the end. The comments on each lesson tell you where they get stuck.

Add a quiz

  1. 1. Open the lesson and click Add question under Quiz.
  2. 2. Write the question and its options under Options (tick the correct one).
  3. 3. Tick the correct option.
  4. 4. Click Save quiz.

Each question has from 2 to 6 options. Saving changes creates a new version, so earlier scores do not get mixed. Put the quiz at the end of each module, with a few questions on what matters. When they send it, the student sees their score and which answers were right. They can retake it as many times as they want. The best score they got in each quiz is always the one that counts for the certificate.

Turn on the certificate

  1. 1. In the course's Release tab, tick Issue a certificate on completing the course.
  2. 2. Type the Minimum quiz score if you want to require one.
  3. 3. Click Save.

When they complete the course, the student downloads their certificate as PDF with their name, the date and a verification code. Anyone can check it is genuine with that code, for example a company asking for it in a hiring process. The name cannot be changed after it is issued, so the student checks it first.

Answer the comments

You get an email with each new comment, so no student is left without an answer. Answering quickly in the first weeks encourages the rest to ask.

  1. 1. Open the course and click the Comments tab.
  2. 2. Click Unanswered.
  3. 3. Click Reply, write your answer and click Send reply.

You can hide a comment you do not want to be seen and show it again whenever you want. Comments, quizzes and certificates explains it.

What you have now
