Chapter 5 of 6

A/B tests

An A/B test shows half your visitors a product's current sales page. It shows the other half a variant B with another headline, another description, another main media or other testimonials. After a few weeks you compare which one sells more and keep it, without guessing.

Decide what to test

Change a single thing per test. If you change the headline and the video at once and B sells more, you will not know which of the two did it. The headline is usually what moves sales most, because it is the first thing read.

Create and start the test

  1. 1. Open Store in the side menu and click the A/B tests tab.
  2. 2. Click New test, choose the Product and type the Test name.
  3. 3. Change in variant B what you want to test.
  4. 4. Click Save draft and then Start test.

What you leave empty in variant B is taken from the current page. Each product accepts a single running test at a time.

Let it gather data

OnBio does not calculate statistical significance. With fewer than 100 sales per variant, the difference may be down to chance. If your product sells little, leave the test more weeks before deciding. Whoever accepted analytics cookies always sees the same variant.

Choose the winner

  1. 1. Open the test in the list.
  2. 2. Compare the conversion and revenue of both variants.
  3. 3. Click Keep variant B or Keep variant A.
  4. 4. Click Choose winner to confirm.

If you keep B, its fields go to the product page for all visitors. The test's figures are kept in both cases.

Test prices

An A/B test only changes the sales page. To compare prices, create two offers of the product and share them in different campaigns, each with its link. Run an A/B test explains it.

What you have now

You know how to test your sales page with data. In the last chapter you go over the rules of the honest checkout.
