Coupons

1. 11. Open Coupons in the side menu and click New coupon.
2. 22. Type the Code and choose the Discount type.
3. 33. Type how much it discounts.
4. 44. Under Scope, choose Whole store or Specific products.
5. 55. Set the Maximum uses, the First buyers or the date in Expires on if you want to limit it.
6. 66. Click Create coupon.

3. 33. Paste the link in your email, your bio or your message.

Whoever opens the link reaches checkout with the discount applied. Whoever has the code types it after clicking Have a coupon? and clicks Apply. The checkout summary shows the Discount before paying.

A coupon with an expiry date or a number of uses creates real urgency. If you say the discount ends on Sunday, put that date in Expires on and let it end. If you say it is for the first 50, use First buyers. That way what you announce is what happens. Next time you announce a date, your audience will believe you.

Each buyer uses a coupon only once. An expired coupon, one with no uses left or one for another product does not apply. In that case checkout tells the buyer why. The discount cannot leave the amount below a sale's minimum. A deactivated coupon stops working in new checkouts.

Your affiliates' commission is calculated on the price before VAT after coupons. A big coupon also reduces what the affiliate who brought the sale earns. Coupons and discount links explains it.
