My email tool has disconnected

Reviewed on 5 October 2026
On this page

If you got the email saying your email tool rejected the access, the changes to your contacts are kept and sent when you reconnect. Find here what you see and follow the steps of that cause.

The key is no longer valid

How to recognise it

The tool appears as Reconnection needed and the last error says the key is not valid. It happens in MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, Kit or Brevo when you generate a new key or delete the old one.

Where to check it

You see it in Integrations, on the tool's card.

What to do
  1. 1. Generate a new API key in your tool.
  2. 2. Paste it in API key and click Save key.
  3. 3. Check that the tool appears as Connected again.

Mailchimp withdrew the authorisation

How to recognise it

Mailchimp appears as Reconnection needed. It happens if you removed OnBio from the connected apps of your Mailchimp account or switched accounts.

Where to check it

You see it in Integrations, on the Mailchimp card.

What to do

Click Connect again, sign in to Mailchimp and authorise OnBio. If it asks, choose the audience again under Destination list.

The ActiveCampaign address changed

How to recognise it

ActiveCampaign rejects the access even though the key is right. It happens when your account changes address, for example after renaming it.

Where to check it

You see it in Integrations, in the last error of ActiveCampaign.

What to do

Copy the new API URL from ActiveCampaign's developer settings, paste it in API URL with your key and save it.

Frequently asked questions

Are the changes of these days lost?

No. OnBio keeps each sign-up, unsubscribe and tag while the tool is disconnected. When you reconnect, it sends them all in the next cycle.
