Builder of the lead magnet welcome with its waits, its emails and the condition with two branches.

Here you build an automation. The column starts at the trigger and goes on step by step: waits, conditions with their “Yes” and “No” branches, and actions like sending an email. Choosing a step opens its settings on the right, or in a sheet on a phone.

How to get there

In Automations, click the name of the automation or create one with New automation.

What you can do

  • Add a step with the plus sign between two steps.
  • Change the trigger or any step from its settings.
  • Fold or unfold the branches of a condition.
  • Undo the last change with Undo.
  • Watch the automation run with your account with Test.
  • Turn the automation on with Activate, or publish the changes of an active one with Publish changes.
  • See the figures of each step in Metrics.
  • See the published versions in Versions.

Step by step

Activate the automation

  1. 1. Review each step of the column.
  2. 2. Click Activate.
  3. 3. If something is missing, the step turns red with what needs completing. Complete it and click Activate again.

Choose the trigger

The trigger decides when a contact enters. It can be a purchase, a captured lead, an added tag, an abandoned cart, a subscription, a failed payment, a completed course, a booking or some days without opening the course.

  1. 1. Click the card of the trigger.
  2. 2. Choose the trigger in When a contact enters.
  3. 3. Limit it to some Products, or leave Any.
  4. 4. Turn on Can enter again if you want someone who left to enter again.

Add a wait

The wait lasts a fixed time, runs until a date or a time of day, or ends when the contact opens an email.

  1. 1. Click the plus sign and choose Wait.
  2. 2. Choose A time, Until a date or Until an event.
  3. 3. For an event, choose the email and write the Time limit. If it runs out, the contact goes on through the Timed out branch.

Add a condition

Those who match the condition go on through the Yes branch and the rest through the No branch. When their branch ends, each contact continues with the step after the condition.

  1. 1. Click the plus sign and choose Condition.
  2. 2. In Check, choose what to look at, for example Bought a product.
  3. 3. Click the plus sign under Yes and under No to add the steps of each branch.

Add an action

Actions send an email, add or remove tags, grant or remove access to a product, enroll in a course, send a WhatsApp, call a webhook or notify the team.

  1. 1. Click the plus sign and choose the action.
  2. 2. Fill in its fields. For an email, write the Subject and click Edit with blocks to build the content.
  3. 3. Click Done when the email is finished.

Test before activating

The test runs with your account as the test contact, with waits at 10 seconds and emails at your address marked as a test. It does not count in the metrics or change any contact.

  1. 1. Click Test.
  2. 2. Follow in the panel what each step does.
  3. 3. At a condition, choose the branch with Yes or No.
  4. 4. When it ends, repeat it with Test again if you want.

See the metrics of each step

The Metrics tab puts on each card the contacts that entered and the ones waiting. An email adds its opens, its clicks and the sales it brought. A condition shows how many went on through Yes and through No.

  1. 1. Open the Metrics tab.
  2. 2. Choose a version in All versions if you want the figures of only one.
  3. 3. Click a step to see the contacts waiting on it, with how long they have been there and when they go on.

What happens next

Every change is saved on its own as a draft. New contacts enter the published version. Those already inside finish in the version they entered.

Keep in mind

  • A condition needs at least one step in each branch.
  • A marketing email only reaches those who accepted your emails. Everyone else skips the step.
  • Send WhatsApp only works after a purchase, a booking or a failed payment, with the template of that trigger.
  • Undo takes the draft back to the moment before the last change, once.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to those inside if I change the automation?

They stay in the version they entered until they finish it. Published changes apply to the contacts who enter afterwards.
