In your community you decide what stays. You can delete posts and comments that break the rules, mute a member for a while or expel them. You can also share the task: make trusted members moderators or designate people from your team with the support role.
Before you start
- Publish clear rules and pin them at the top of the feed, so that you can refer to them.
Mute or expel a member
Open the community from Communities and select the Members tab, where the actions on each member are.
- 1. Find the member by their email.
- 2. Select the menu of their row.
- 3. Choose Mute for 24 hours, Mute for 7 days, Mute indefinitely or Expel.
Designate a team moderator
- 1. Select the Moderation tab.
- 2. In Team moderators, select Designate a support account.
- 3. Choose the support account.
- 4. Select Designate.
What happens next
A muted member can read the community. Until the mute ends they cannot post, comment or react. An expelled member stops seeing the community. Each action stays in the Moderation log with who did it, when and its reason.
Keep in mind
- Expelling does not cancel the member's purchase or subscription. For that, the notice offers Manage the purchase and the subscription.
- You can readmit an expelled member from Members.
- For a buyer to moderate, promote them to moderator from the menu of their row in Members.
- You can only designate as team moderators the accounts with the support role.
