Subscriptions and trial periods

With a subscription, the buyer pays every month or every year for as long as they want to continue. You can start with a free or low-cost trial period so they try it before paying the full price.
Create a subscription with a trial
The trial is part of the offer, so the same product can have an offer with a trial and another one without it.
- 1. Open the product in Products, open Settings, click Offers and then New offer.
- 2. Under Payment mode, choose Subscription.
- 3. Type the Price including VAT in euros and choose the Frequency.
- 4. Under Trial period, choose Free trial or Low-cost trial.
- 5. Type the Trial days and, for the low-cost one, the Trial price in euros.
- 6. Click Save offer.
What happens next
The payment button says what is charged, for example «Subscribe free for 7 days · then €9.00/month». OnBio emails the buyer 3 days before the first full charge with the amount, the date and the link to cancel. Then it charges each period automatically with the same card or the same wallet.
Keep in mind
- The trial lasts from 4 to 90 days. The low-cost one has to cost less than the subscription price.
- If you change the price of a subscription with subscribers, each of them receives a notice. The new price applies on their first charge from 30 days on, and they can cancel at no cost before that.
- If a charge fails, OnBio retries it for 7 days and tells the buyer with a link to change the card. If it is not recovered, the subscription is cancelled.
- Bizum and PayPal are not offered in subscriptions.
- Each renewal appears in Sales as an order of its own with the type Renewal.
Frequently asked questions
How does a subscriber cancel?
From their member area or with the management link in their emails, without signing in. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period they already paid, so they keep access until that date. They can also pause the subscription and resume it whenever they want.
