Build an automation

An automation writes for you when something happens: a purchase, a captured lead, an abandoned cart or a failed payment. You build it in the builder with waits, conditions and actions, test it with your account and activate it.

Start from a template

  1. 1. Click Email in the side menu and open Automations.
  2. 2. Click New automation, choose the template and click Use template.
  3. 3. Review the trigger and each step of the column. Click a card to change its settings.

Add a condition with two branches

  1. 1. Click the plus sign where you want the condition and choose Condition.
  2. 2. In Check, choose what to look at, for example Bought a product.
  3. 3. Put at least one step under Yes and another under No.

Test and activate

  1. 1. Click Test and follow in the panel what each step does. At a condition, choose the branch with Yes or No.
  2. 2. Click Activate. If something is missing, the step turns red with what needs completing.

See what works

  1. 1. Open the Metrics tab.
  2. 2. Each step shows how many contacts entered and how many are waiting. An email adds its opens, its clicks and the sales it brought.
  3. 3. Click a step to see the contacts waiting on it, or choose a version in All versions.

What happens next

Each contact enters the moment their trigger happens and follows the steps of the published version. Changes you publish later create a new version for those who enter from then on.

Keep in mind

  • A marketing email only reaches those who accepted your emails. Service emails reach everyone.
  • Whoever unsubscribes leaves the automations with marketing emails.
  • Your earlier email flows are already in Automations with the same texts and waits.
