The coupon does not work

When you type a coupon at the checkout, the field shows a notice in red below it and the price does not drop. Check these causes in order, from the most frequent to the least frequent. Each one says how to recognise it, where it shows and what to do.
The code is not typed correctly
- How to recognise it
The notice says The coupon cannot be applied. It usually happens with an extra space, a swapped letter or a code copied in part from an email or a post.
- Where to check it
You see it in the Coupon field of the checkout, on the product page, with the notice right below it.
- What to do
Type the code again letter by letter before clicking Apply. If the creator gave you a link with the discount, the coupon applies on its own when you open it.
The coupon has expired
- How to recognise it
The notice says The coupon has expired. Coupons have start and end dates that the creator chooses, like those of a seasonal campaign.
- Where to check it
You see it in the same Coupon field of the checkout on the product page, with the date already past even though the code is right.
- What to do
An expired coupon cannot be brought back from the checkout. Write to the creator in case they have another one running, as write to the creator explains.
The coupon has no uses left
- How to recognise it
The notice says The coupon has no uses left. The creator can limit how many purchases or how many people use a coupon. Other people used it up before you.
- Where to check it
You see it in the Coupon field of the checkout on the product page, even though the code and the date are right.
- What to do
Ask the creator whether they will open more uses or have another coupon for you.
You already used the coupon
- How to recognise it
The notice says You have already used this coupon. Each coupon works for a single purchase per person. The store checks it with your email.
- Where to check it
You see it in the Coupon field of the checkout on the product page, after you type your email.
- What to do
If someone else is buying, they pay with their own email. If you do not remember using it, check your purchases in your area.
The coupon is not valid for this purchase
- How to recognise it
The notice says The coupon is not valid for this purchase. A coupon can work only for some products of the store. It does not apply to a purchase paid in instalments either.
- Where to check it
You see it in the Coupon field of the checkout, on the page of the product you are trying to buy.
- What to do
Check in the post or the email of the coupon which product it is for. If the offer has a one-off payment, choose it instead of the instalments. If in doubt, ask the creator.
The price would go below the minimum
- How to recognise it
The notice says With this coupon the amount would be below the minimum. The discount would take the price below the minimum amount of a payment without reaching zero.
- Where to check it
You see it in the Coupon field of the checkout, on the product page, when the product is cheap and the discount is large.
- What to do
Buy without the coupon or ask the creator for a discount that keeps the price above the minimum.
