Listen to a private podcast

On this page

A private podcast is played in your own podcast app, with a feed that is only yours. You add it once and new episodes reach you on their own, as with any other podcast.

Before you start

  • Have an app installed that lets you add a podcast by URL, such as Apple Podcasts or Overcast.

Copy your feed

  1. 1. In your area, click Open on the podcast.
  2. 2. Click Copy feed URL.

Add it to your app

  1. 1. Open your podcast app.
  2. 2. Look for the option to add a podcast by URL.
  3. 3. Paste the URL and confirm.

What happens next

The podcast appears in your app with its episodes. When the store publishes a new one, your app downloads it like any other.

Keep in mind

  • Spotify does not accept private feeds. Use Apple Podcasts, Overcast or another app that lets you add a podcast by URL.
  • The feed is personal. If you share it by mistake, click Renew URL on the podcast's screen: the previous URL stops working and you have to add the new one in your app.
  • If your access ends, for example when you cancel a subscription, the feed stops receiving new episodes.
