The invoices of your sessions

When someone buys a session, a session pack or a custom service, OnBio is the legal seller and issues their invoice at the moment of the charge. That invoice goes from OnBio to its buyer, so it doesn't appear in your list of invoices. Your share of each sale arrives in the self-billed invoice of the month, which OnBio issues in your name with the authorisation you signed in onboarding.

Before you start

  • Sign the Self-billing agreement and the Representation before the Spanish Tax Agency in onboarding.
  • Complete your tax details, because they decide the VAT and the withholding of your self-billed invoice.

  1. 1. Open Invoices in the side menu.
  2. 2. Choose Self-billed sales invoice in the Type filter.
  3. 3. Select the self-billed invoice to see its lines, among them those of your sessions.

What happens next

The buyer receives their invoice by email and has it in their member area. If they ask for a full invoice with their tax ID, OnBio replaces it with one. You don't have to do anything in either case.

Keep in mind

  • The invoice to the buyer carries Spanish VAT at 21%, unless the buyer is a business from another EU country or from the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla.
  • Your self-billed invoice carries VAT at 21% if your tax address is on the mainland or in the Balearic Islands. In the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla it goes without tax, with the reverse charge note.
  • If your activity is professional, your self-billed invoice deducts the personal income tax withholding, which OnBio pays in on your behalf.
  • If you refund a session, OnBio corrects its invoice to the buyer and the next self-billed invoice deducts what was refunded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I issue the invoice of a session to the buyer myself?

You shouldn't. The sale belongs to OnBio and already has its invoice, so one of yours would duplicate the transaction. Your invoice is the self-billed invoice to OnBio for your services, issued on its own each month.
