Two-step verification adds to your password a 6-digit code that your phone generates and that changes every 30 seconds. That way, whoever gets your password cannot enter without your phone. On OnBio it is mandatory on every account because money moves from the panel. You turn it on only once, when you create the account.

Before you start

  • Install a verification app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy.
  • Have a safe place off your phone at hand for the recovery codes, such as a password manager or a piece of paper you keep.

The activation screen appears on its own when you confirm a new account or when you sign in with an account that does not have it yet.

Activation of Sofía Marín's two-step verification with the QR code, the key and the app code field.

If you cannot scan the code, select Copy the key and paste it into your app instead of the QR code.

  2. 2. Scan the QR code on the screen.
  3. 3. Write in App code the 6 digits the app shows.
  4. 4. Select Turn on verification.

Save the recovery codes

The screen shows 10 recovery codes. Each one lets you in once if you do not have your phone. This is the only screen where you see them.

  1. 1. Select Download or Copy and keep them off your phone.
  2. 2. Tick I have saved the codes in a safe place.

Keep in mind

  • Two-step verification cannot be turned off. You can move it to another phone with Change device in Security.
  • If the code does not work, set your phone's time to automatic. The codes depend on the exact time.
  • When you have few recovery codes left, the panel Home warns you. Select Generate codes to get 10 new ones.
  • Each person in your team turns on their own verification with their own phone.
