Course groups
On this page
Here you create groups of students with content different from the rest. A group hides modules or lessons from its students, or opens them on another date, for example for a company group or for those who started later. Each row shows how many students and how many rules the group has.
Students are added to a group from the Students tab, by ticking them in the list and choosing the target group.
How to get there
Open the course from Courses and select the Groups tab, among the tabs above the content of the course.
What you can do
- Create a group with New group, linked to an edition if the course uses them.
- Hide modules or lessons from the students of the group.
- Open a module or a lesson to the group from a date.
- Edit or delete a group without students.
Step by step
Create a group
- 1. Select New group.
- 2. Write the Group name.
- 3. Choose the Edition or leave No edition.
- 4. In Group content, choose for each module or lesson As the course, Hidden or From a date.
- 5. Select Save group.
What happens next
The rules apply as soon as you save. The students of the group see the course with them.
Keep in mind
- What you leave as the course follows the release of the course.
- Only a group without students can be deleted.
These roles can open this screen: owner, admin, content editor and support.
