Signed webhooks

On this page

A webhook tells another application as soon as something happens in your store, such as a sale, a refund or a cancelled subscription. Each notice is signed so the destination can check that it comes from OnBio.

Register a webhook

  1. 1. In Integrations, click New webhook.
  2. 2. Paste in Address the one the other application gives you.
  3. 3. Choose the Events you want to receive and click Save.
  4. 4. Copy the signing secret and save it in the destination.

Test the destination

  1. 1. Click See deliveries on the webhook's row.
  2. 2. Click Send test event.
  3. 3. Check under Deliveries that the test appears as Delivered.

What happens next

Each event arrives within seconds with its signature. If the destination does not answer, OnBio retries up to 8 times with growing waits. If all of them fail, the delivery stays as Undelivered and you can resend it.

Keep in mind

  • The address has to start with https://.
  • The secret is only shown when the webhook is created. If you lose it, click Rotate secret and put the new one in the destination.
  • The code to verify the signature is in the developer reference.
  • You can have up to 20 webhooks per store.
  • If the webhook is turned off after many failures, follow webhook turned off.
